I am learning to lean into messy joy.
Letting go of perfection and order.
Embracing the full life God gives.
Little feet thundering over wood floors.
Laughter resounding, ringing like bells.
All evidence of happy joy, noisy in nature.
Piles of unfolded laundry, growing.
Legos in every nook and cranny.
Proof of life bursting, spilling over.
Mounds of muddy boots obstruct the door.
Cookie crumbs adorn the kitchen floor.
Tis the season of play and memory making.
Heavy lifting, stooping low, this body aches.
Head throbbing with constant, swirling chaos.
Longing for calm in the eye of this storm.
Into our messy world, Jesus comes.
A babe, perfect, without blemish.
To heal the broken, love the messy.
God with us, to the end of the age.
With us, in mundane, scattered days.
Through uncertain, sleepless nights.
He calms the chaos, sheds His light.
Giving us eyes to see His wonder and beauty.
Clear evidence of His fingerprints all around.
This full life never promising easy.
Yet He gives Himself in abundance.
We lean in, His joy fills us, overflowing.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. Luke 2:10-11 NIV
I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b NIV

As the Christmas season begins, I invite you to join our family as we learn to lean into the messy joy. Embracing the full, abundant life that God calls us to. I will do my best in the hustle and bustle of this season to give you a small window into our home as we prepare to celebrate our Savior’s birth.
Please know that there may be picture perfect moments but we are a far from perfect family. We get impatient and loud. We make mistakes. We try to not take ourselves too seriously and we ask and receive forgiveness often. We are human and we love one another messy with a whole lot of grace oozing over the edges.
I will also be sharing with you a few ways to come along side our family in December as we continue to journey towards adopting from Bulgaria. Keep us in your prayers as we strive to wrap up our dossier paperwork by the end of this month. We have a couple forms we are waiting on before our dossier can be sent to Bulgaria. Pray for His peace in the waiting.
From our family to yours, We wish you a Christmas season spilling over with abundant love and messy joy!

Ahhh…the joy of our salvation is always there, but sometimes (often) we have to look for it. You are good at looking! Love the candle holder…progressing toward Christmas.

I don’t usually respond to internet blogs or communications, but this one just pulled my fingers to the keys. I am praying for you, your family, and the adoption process. This certainly is a God-sized prayer. Those forms should come quickly so that you can move forward. Do you have your name ready for when the child comes?? Let’s bring it up tomorrow under Missional Service. Thank you for being a lovely example of Christian womanhood. See you tomorrow. nancy c
