How thankful I am for the rain we received this last week. To watch as it came down and soaked our parched, dry earth. It has been too long. This reminded me of how I can begin to feel at times. Thirsty and near empty with nothing left to give.
The good news, I need not wait for rain. I need only come to the living well to quench and satisfy my every thirst and fill my cup overflowing. This song by David Crowder Band, entitled, “How He Loves” is one that vividly reminds me of God’s unending ocean of love. How wide and how deep his affection is for each of us. His love comes softly almost like a whisper and then steady until it pours down, saturates and washes clean. It seeps in, soaks deep, runs over, refreshes and renews.
After the rain, the sun shines brilliant, sky clear blue, air crisp and fresh, the birds and plants more alive. It is as if the earth is rejoicing. Thank you, Lord for your great love and how you satisfy.
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” John 7:37 NIV
In love and grace,
Heather
