“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 NIV
In waiting, I am learning that I must not only anticipate all that is to come. Always longing for something just out of my reach. Struggling to find contentment and peace in the suspense and the incomplete. Instead it is crucial that I keep my eyes fixed on the ultimate prize, pressing forward in faith. Knowing that in Christ all is complete, made whole again.
I am slowing to the moments, staying alert to all that God is doing in the here and now. The goodness and mercy that is continually available. The ways he is changing and renewing me as I wait, from the inside out.
I am beginning to let go of all that binds me yet not forgetting the many ways in which God has delivered me. He has shown me His love in more ways than I can count. He has provided above and beyond, in the ordinary and extraordinary.
Lord, I thank you for your faithfulness yesterday, today and always. For your mercy and grace that is new every morning. I will remain awake to the beauty you give in my everyday moments. The joy that is found in knowing you.
I wait with hope-filled anticipation, alert to the ways you are moving. With unwavering faith, I believe that you have the power to move mountains on the behalf of our adoption. On the behalf of our daughter, your precious child you are making all things new, complete. Your love coming down to rescue her.
Standing firm, pressing forward, eyes fixed on you. Past, present, future, I am forever Yours.
In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV
