The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.””
Exodus 14:14 NIV
This passage was Moses’ response to the Israelites right before God delivered them from the bondage of slavery. Their imminent future looking grim and impossible, powerless against the advancing Egyptian Army. They felt defeated and wondered why God had led them into the desert only to die at the hands of the Egyptians.
Little did they know that God was at work. He did not forsake them. Moses only needed to raise His staff and by God’s mighty power the impossible happened. The Red Sea parted. The Israelites did not fight the Egyptians, no harm came to them. They only needed to keep moving forward. Remaining fixed on the path that God was setting before them.
What a great picture of how God fights for us. We can remain still. He is at work. He is fighting for us, for our children, for our family. Even when our circumstances seem impossible, He will do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine.
Lord, thank you for never giving up on us. For always fighting for us. For interceding continually on our behalf.
You are fighting and interceding on the behalf of my family and our future daughter. You are in control of every single detail, breaking through every last hurdle in our adoption process.
Jesus, still the restless undercurrent of my mama heart. Even in the quiet, uncertain waiting, you are at work in immeasurable ways. You great love for our future daughter is powerful, parting the sea, making a way through the impossible.
Your LOVE will BRING her HOME.
Be still, and know that I am God.”
Psalm 46:10a NIV
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
Romans 8:26 NIV

Miss you! I saw two different Moms at Trader Joe’s today with several little kids helping each Mom. Some where pushing those kid baskets with lots of stuff in them and some were following Mom’s directions to find the right items. It reminded me of you. I can’t believe that this adoption is so slow, but am keeping in mind something is not ready yet. May our Lord shorten the time ’til you see and hold your #5 child.
