It was you who taught me the words to say.
The words that invited my Heavenly Father, my Jesus, to live in my life at the early age of four.
It was your love for me that gave me a sliver of understanding into the depths of His great love, for me, for us all.
Your tender and protective care for your one and only daughter, gave me a small glimpse of His greatest sacrifice.
This sacrifice that gave His one and only son,
to save me, to save us all.
Though you were not perfect, as none of us are,
you were always there.
In my raging, uncertain, teenage years,
my far-from-perfect years,
you pursued me relentlessly.
Always pointing me back to that which is certain,
Him who is unchanging.
Never giving up. Always desiring the best for me.
Making great sacrifices, giving up big dreams,
for me, for your family.
In doing so, you taught me that I have a Heavenly Father
who is ever present.
From whom I can always depend.
Never leaving nor forsaking me.
Pursuing me relentlessly.
Taking me as I am, regardless of my flaws, my imperfections.
Giving me His very best.
A perfect Father, the only one who loves me, loves you, love us all,
completely, unconditionally.
Thank you, Dad for always being there
and desiring only the best for me.
Happy Father’s Day!
I love you,
Heather
